Harriet Chebet Ng’ok is a Kenyan entrepreneur, financier, and community-based innovator specializing in African botanical products and sustainable resource systems. She is the founder of Harriet’s Botanicals, a Nairobi-based enterprise focused on the manufacture and retail of indigenous herbal formulations, nutraceuticals, and botanical skincare. Her work integrates traditional knowledge with modern production, drawing on over 50 plant species sourced through community partnerships across Bomet County and the Rift Valley.

Central to her approach is a strong community engagement model involving over 400 participants, herbal practitioners, smallholder growers, and knowledge holders. These include communities of the Maasai in Mau Narok, Mijikenda in Kilifi and Luo in Siaya. Through these networks, she supports sustainable harvesting, cultivation, and the preservation of indigenous medicinal knowledge, while also advancing cultural archiving and local capacity-building. Her initiatives extend to new sourcing collaborations with Maasai communities, reinforcing cross-cultural knowledge exchange and conservation practices.

Harriet began her career in global finance, working with JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and the Financial Services Authority in London. She holds an LLB and LLM from the London School of Economics, specializing in international banking and finance law. She later transitioned into advisory roles in Kenya across renewable energy, housing, water, and health sectors.

Her work has earned multiple recognitions, including Manufacturing SME of the Year (2024) and Innovator of the Year (2025) from the Kenya Association of Manufacturers; most recently she was elected a chair in the same organization (KAM). She is also a fellow of the MIT Kuo Sharper Foundry Fellowship, where she focuses on ecosystem building and sustainable enterprise development.
