Short Description
Thе project contributes to the preservation and rehabilitation of the architectural heritage of Ukraine by creating digital documentation of architectural monuments, strengthening the professional formation and providing on the job training to a new generation of Ukrainian heritage architects. The courses cover 3D documentation, architectural documentation, heritage analysis, conservation assessment, international conservation standards and local legal regulations.
The project will include a series of international webinars for students, professionals, and educators in architecture, 3D laser scanning, and heritage conservation in Ukraine, aimed at facilitating expertise exchange, strengthening connections, and integrating Ukrainian professionals into global networks.

Main Objective
- To contribute to the preservation and rehabilitation of Ukraine’s architectural heritage, especially in the context of post-war reconstruction, by training a new generation of heritage architects.
- To address the challenges of architectural education in Ukraine while responding to the destruction of heritage due to war.
Outcomes
Documentation and Preservation:
- Preparation of 3D scans and architectural documentation of up to 30 architectural monuments in Western Ukraine.
Training and Capacity Building:
- Training of up to 50 students and 20 teachers from Ukrainian architectural schools, covering 3D documentation, architectural documentation, heritage analysis, conservation standards, and conservation assessment.
Knowledge and Skill Development:
- Students will develop the ability to approach built heritage critically, understand historical and cultural issues, and receive training to make informed conservation decisions.
- Teachers will be trained to introduce 3D documentation, architectural heritage and conservation courses in their institutions.
Curriculum and Materials:
- Creation of open-access materials and datasets to assist teachers in developing architectural heritage and conservation courses.
International Collaboration and Expertise:
- Organization of a series of webinars and practical in-person training sessions with international experts in digitization of heritage sites and architectural conservation.
