Short Description
This project, supported by the ALIPH Foundation, preserves the World Heritage Site of the Walled City of Shibam in Yemen from the impact of climate change and risk disasters.
It rehabilitates around 60 traditional earthen architecture buildings, two palaces and a civic building in Shibam. It creates a museum showcasing living traditions of the city. It introduces climate change adaptation measures to protect the traditional architecture and the local community.

Main Objective
To protect Shibam’s architectural and cultural heritage while fostering local economic growth and social cohesion. This includes ensuring the city’s viability as a hub for sustainable tourism and a living example of Yemeni cultural history.
