Benefactors

Lloyd Cotsen: the founding donor and one of the initial visionaries of the HERITΛGE is also the benefactor of the Gennadius Library and the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. Mr. Cotsen is one of the most important benefactors of culture and education in California today.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation, an international philanthropic organization, makes grants in the areas of arts and culture, education, health and medicine, and social welfare. While prominent in its support of Greek-related initiatives, the Foundation’s activities are worldwide in scope.

The Anastasios G. Leventis Foundation:  Established in May 1979, the A. C. Leventis Foundation is the outcome of the vision of Cypriot entrepreneur Anastasios G. Leventis (1902-1978), who laid the bases of its focus on society, education and culture.

Grand Donors

Bodossaki Foundation: The Foundation, which has inherited the entire Bodossakis estate since 1972, aims to promote education in Greece, medical care in Greece – especially of the less privileged financially, as well as the protection of the environment.

Pavlos and Alexandra Canellopoulou Foundation: The objectives of the Foundation are to showcase Greek art, to advance the knowledge and appreciation of Greek culture, to promote the cause of education and to undertake and support activities assisting charities and the less privileged members of society. 

Theodore Papalexopoulos: the former CEO general of Titan S.A.,  Theodore Papalexopoulos is one of the most generous supporters of Greek archaeology, having contributed to many archaeological programmes or excavations, such as the reconstruction of Nemea.

Charles K. Williams II: the excavator of Corinth and prominent Greek archaeologist, Charles Williams is the chairman and a benefactor of the American School of Classical Studies, as well as an avid supporter of Greek Archaeology in general.

The Fulbright Foundation, Greece:  The United States Educational Foundation in Greece, established in 1948, administers the Fulbright Program between the United States of America and Greece. The Fulbright Foundation in Greece takes pride in being the oldest Fulbright Program in Europe and the second-oldest continuously operating Fulbright Program in the world.
