Main Objective
The project aims to empower the Batwa community in Kisoro, Uganda, by securing land to develop a cultural heritage site that preserves their unique traditions and promotes eco-tourism. Activities include training Batwa elders and youth as guides and performers, planting indigenous trees and medicinal herbs, and collecting cultural artifacts. Through increased awareness and inclusion, the project will generate sustainable income from tourism and craft sales, improve social cohesion, and restore cultural identity, while addressing challenges like illiteracy and resource access through community engagement and collaboration with park authorities.
