Short Description
Main Objective
Fort Fredericksburg was built in 1683 and is part of the UNESCO tentative list of forts and castles in Ghana. However, for almost three decades, the fort has not undergone any significant preservation efforts and is now in a state of disrepair.
The Ghana Museums and Monuments Board (GMMB) wishes to implement prompt measures to safeguard the building for future generations. Upon execution, the project will construct a museum on site dedicated to showcasing the cultural heritage of the indigenous community and serving as a tourist attraction.
Outcomes
Preservation of historic structure safeguarding it for future generations.
Creation of a space showcasing heritage of the indigenous community.
Creation of a tourist attraction.
