Short Description
Main Objective
The Khama III Memorial Museum plans to open a restaurant utilising locally resourced materials to bolster museum engagement, generate youth employment, and champion indigenous Tswana cuisine. By prioritising local ingredients and advocating for indigenous crops, the Museum will promote sustainable agriculture with minimal carbon footprint. Moreover, the initiative endeavors to conserve and propagate indigenous seeds, which will empower local farmers, especially elderly women.
Through showcasing indigenous cuisine and its cultural significance, the project will enrich Botswana’s heritage and foster community involvement and economic empowerment while creating a social space where community families can meet, converse in safety, and celebrate cultural and social events.
