Dr Fafa Addo Boateng

Dr Fafa Addo Boateng, Head of Medical Affairs for Sub-Saharan Africa at Novartis, is a physician and public health expert recognized for her strategic and scientific leadership in clinical medicine, research and development and access to medical innovations. With more than 20 years of experience spanning clinical medicine, public health, clinical research, and the pharmaceutical industry, she has built an exemplary career at the intersection of science, health policy, and societal impact. Before joining Novartis, Fafa spent nearly a decade with Johnson & Johnson, where she held several regional and global leadership positions. Prior to Johnson & Johnson, she practiced as a clinician at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for a decade, where she developed a deeply human and patient-centred approach to clinical practice. Fafa’s expertise ranges from medical strategy to clinical development, access to medicines, and building impactful and meaningful cross-sector partnerships.
