José R. Delannoy

Puerto Rico Representative

José R. Delannoy is a highly accomplished heritage professional and consultant who leverages a strong focus on community engagement, human development, project management, and curatorial affairs to create specialized spaces and experiences for the preservation and dissemination of fine arts and multidisciplinary concepts, including cultural tourism. He currently holds several key roles that underscore his extensive expertise: he serves as curator for the Puerto Rico Tourism Company’ Art Gallery Miguel A Domenech, the Museo de San Juan, managing temporary exhibits for the City Government of San Juan's Department of Arts and Culture, and as curator for Puerto Rico for the Pablo Casals Foundation of New York, where he oversees educational programming and supervises museum collections management. He is a consultant of Cultural Affairs in the President's Office at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. José's professional history spans decades and includes significant roles such as Director and Head Curator for the Pablo Casals Museum of Puerto Rico and an Archives Technician at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History. He holds an MA in World Heritage and Cultural Projects for Development from the University of Barcelona/University of Torino, a  Graduate Certificate in Museum Collections Management and Care from The George Washington University, and an MA in Museology and Management of the Cultural Heritage from the University of Barcelona (2003). A dedicated educator, he has served as a lecturer and visiting professor at institutions including the University of Puerto Rico-Carolina and the National University of Colombia. He is also actively involved in field leadership, currently serving as a Board Member and Lead Director for the Fideicomiso Pablo Casals de Puerto Rico/Pablo Casals Trust of Puerto Rico. José is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, and uses French as a research tool.
