Rob Davies

European Programs Manager

Rob Davies is our European Programs Manager. Rob is an experienced creator, leader and manager of European projects and networks with an unbroken track record over more than 25 years. He has initiated and successfully managed many key EU actions in the fields of Digital Cultural Heritage (DCH) - for example, in relation to Europeana and local heritage -,  public sector information and e-learning. He has worldwide experience in consultancy and project development for clients including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Development Fund, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, DFID, USAID and the British Council, covering more than 40 countries.

From 2016-20, he worked at the Digital Heritage Research Laboratory at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) where he was  Project Manager of ViMM (Virtual Multimodal Museum), the Coordination and Support Action funded under Horizon 2020, which provided guidance to the European Commission on policies for Digital Cultural Heritage (DCH) and built a consensual framework, defining and resolving existing issues across  interlinked Thematic Areas, resulting in a Manifesto and Roadmap for Action at national, EU and international level. In Cyprus, he also participated in the creation of the UNESCO and European Research Area Chairs of Digital Heritage.  Rob is also Vice-Chair of the Europeana Network Association.
