Dr Alexis Stefanis,
is an Associate Professor at the Department of Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Art of the University of West Attica, Greece. He has been involved in many research projects and has produced a significant number of studies and publications concerning the conservation, restoration and rehabilitation of architectural heritage.
Conservation of cultural heritage refers to the measures taken to extend the life of cultural heritage while strengthening transmission of its significant heritage messages and values. In the domain of cultural property, the aim of conservation is to maintain the physical and cultural characteristics of the object and to ensure that its value will not be diminished.
